Reports indicate that a group of goons raided the deserted General Service Unit (GSU) camp in Angata Barrikoi, Narok County, days after a violent clash over a land dispute led to the killing of five people in the area.
A police report says that the goons destroyed the building structures on Friday, May 2, (way after the GSU officers had left the camp) before taking all the iron sheets, water tanks, timber, among other valuables.
This raid comes after Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, on Tuesday, April 29, ordered for the immediate transfer of the area DCIO and GSU officers following the deadly clash.
Kanja had apologised to residents, vowing to take action against officers who used excessive force during the clash.
He promised to oversee the posting of a new GSU team to oversee security in the area.
