Gor Mahia strengthened their grip at the top of the 2025/26 Sportpesa League standings after defeating Ulinzi Stars 3–1 at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Sunday, 15 March 2026.
The league leaders took control early when Shariff Musa won a penalty inside the opening minutes, allowing Enock Morrison to calmly convert from the spot in the 10th minute to hand Gor Mahia the advantage.
The visitors managed the remainder of the first half comfortably despite losing Sylvester Owino to injury, heading into the break with a deserved lead after creating several scoring opportunities.
Gor Mahia tightened their hold on the contest midway through the second half following tactical changes, with Patrick Essombe doubling the advantage in the 68th minute shortly after coming on.
Shariff Musa then capped a dominant performance seven minutes later, finishing off a swift attacking move to make it 3–0 and effectively seal the result.
Ulinzi Stars pulled one goal back late through Edward Odhiambo in the 88th minute, but the consolation strike did little to alter the outcome as Gor Mahia secured maximum points to move ten clear at the summit, while the Soldiers’ struggles at the bottom of the table continued.
Elsewhere, Tusker FC boosted their form with a 2–0 win over Kakamega Homeboyz at Wang’uru Stadium, Ibrahim Joshua scoring twice to hand the Brewers a third consecutive league victory.
In Gusii Stadium, Kariobangi Sharks came from behind to defeat Shabana 2–1, with goals from Razel Omondi and Markvivan Kesa overturning Brian Michira’s opener and condemning Shabana to back-to-back losses.
KCB and Murang’a Seal shared the spoils in a 1–1 draw at Nyayo Stadium in another evenly contested fixture.
