Gospel singer Ben Githae has spoken out after concerns were raised about his daughter’s health, denying claims that he has neglected her.
The child, who is admitted to Kenyatta National Hospital, requires blood and medical assistance.
This was after Githae shared screenshots of his conversations with the mother of his twin daughters, Rose Mwangi, showing her pleas for help and her struggle to meet the medical costs.
“Tunaomba damu,” he wrote, while urging Kenyans of goodwill to step in. He also shared Rose’s contact, saying the situation had gone beyond what she could handle alone.
The revelations come years after the singer admitted to fathering twins out of wedlock, a past mistake that still follows him.
This time, however, Githae stressed that he has always been present in his children’s lives, covering their education and other needs.
Meanwhile, Kenyans reacted to his comment with mixed reactions.
Some criticized him for seemingly airing private family matters online, while others offered to donate blood and stand with the family in their time of need.
For Githae, the message is simple: It doesn’t matter what people may remember, but right now the priority is saving his daughter’s life.
