Kwale County Governor Fatuma Achani on December 1, 2025 led World Aids Day celebrations at Ukunda Show Grounds in Msambweni.
The theme for this year’s World Aids Day is “Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response.”
Speaking during the event, Governor Achani emphasized the need to promote HIV awareness among Kenyan youths, in order to reduce new infections.
Kwale County has made a great step in combating the HIV menace by ensuring medical services are available to the victims in all 178 hospitals in the County.
Some of the services offered include HIV testing, counselling to Aids patients, supplying ARVs to victims, and ensuring safe delivery by mothers with HIV.
Currently, 15,000 people living with HIV in Kwale County are getting the care and support they deserve.
