The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has officially confirmed that the Harambee Starlets will participate in the CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship 2025, scheduled to take place from June 12 to 22 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The regional tournament will feature five nations: hosts Tanzania, Kenya, South Sudan, Burundi, and Uganda.
Organized by the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) in collaboration with the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), the championship serves as a key preparatory event for the region’s representative ahead of the 2025 Africa Women Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set to kick off in Morocco in July.
Currently, the Harambee Starlets are in Morocco, where they are scheduled to face the Atlas Lionesses in an international friendly match this evening in Tangier.
This friendly forms part of the team’s comprehensive preparations ahead of the CECAFA Championship and other upcoming international fixtures.
The CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship presents an important opportunity for the Harambee Starlets to test themselves against regional rivals and gain valuable match experience ahead of the Africa Women Cup of Nations.
