Police officers in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, have arrested a headteacher for allegedly defiling four school boys.
The teacher’s arrest follows complaints from the victims and their parents.
Turbo Sub-County Police Commander Patrick Wekesa confirmed the arrest, saying the headteacher was arrested on Sunday, July 13, moments after presiding over netball games.
The police commander confirmed that investigations are ongoing as both the suspect and the victims have been taken for medical examination at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
“We are holding him for investigations to establish the truth. The offence is serious and requires medical reports before the next action is taken,” he said.
The victims include a 15-year-old in Grade 8, a 14-year-old in Grade 7, another 15-year-old in Grade 9, and a 16-year-old also in Grade 9.
The offences are said to have taken place between December 2024 and February 2025.
“The DCI is now handling the matter. Our officers are recording statements from the victims and collecting relevant evidence,” said Wekesa.
“We have already dispatched officers to thoroughly investigate the matter so that the necessary legal action is taken,” he added.
