The Ministry of Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has announced a waiver of medical bills for protest victims across the country.
In a statement on Monday June 30, 2025, Duale noted that the Government was committed to ensuring all protest victims receive the care and support they need.
This was after recent demonstrations in Nairobi on June 17 and 25, 2025, resulted in injuries and emotional distress for many Kenyans.
“As a Ministry, our hearts go out to all those affected, and we remain committed to ensuring they receive the care and support they need.
“As a result, I have directed the management of Kenyatta National Hospital to waive all medical bills for patients injured during the protests and charge them to the hospital’s Disaster Emergency Fund,” Duale noted in a statement.
He added that the bills includes the outstanding bill of the late Mr. Boniface Kariuki, which stood at Ksh 815,805 at the time of his passing.
