Homa Bay County Commissioner urges peace ahead of late MP Ong’ondo Were’s burial

Homa Bay County Commissioner Moses Lilan has urged residents of Kasipul Constituency to uphold peace before, during, and after the burial of the late Member of Parliament, Ong’ondo Were.

Speaking from his office in Homa Bay, Lilan assured the public that adequate security measures have been put in place. He commended the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for the progress made in tracking down those responsible for the MP’s killing.

Echoing the commissioner’s sentiments, Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga also called for calm in a message shared on her social media platforms earlier this morning.

The calls for peace come amid ongoing investigations into the tragic incident that has gripped the region.
