Police in Molo, Nakuru County, have arrested a notorious criminal who was busted with a suspected stolen motorcycle and nine assorted 6kg gas cyclinders.
Officers from Molo Police Station were making a routing patrol in the Keep Left area on Monday, August 18 evening when they spotted two unregistered motorcycles, each carrying a green sack containing unidentified items.
The officers gave a chase, intercepting and arresting one suspect, while the other fled towards the Mutirithia area, abandoning his motorcycle.
Police say the arrested suspect is a known criminal with a history of prior convictions and acquittals at the Molo Law Courts.
Upon inspecting the recovered sacks, officers discovered nine assorted 6 kg gas cylinders. Further investigation revealed that both motorcycles had their frame numbers tampered with and erased.
The suspect was taken into custody at Molo Police Station, where he remains detained pending arraignment.
Drug peddler arrested in Tharaka Nithi
Elsewhere, National Police Service (NPS) officers stationed at Itugururu Police Post, while on foot patrol in Itugururu Market, received intelligence from the public about a notorious narcotics peddler operating near the Itugururu Matatu Stage.
The officers responded immediately, but upon arrival, the suspect fled towards nearby buildings. After a pursuit, he was apprehended and, upon search, was found in possession of 33 rolls of cannabis.
The suspect is currently in custody, pending processing and arraignment, while the exhibits have been secured at the same facility.
