Hundreds of Kenyans are among attendees of the 59th annual Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (Jalsa Salana). This year’s convention which is ongoing in Alton, United Kingdom, has attracted over fifty-thousand Ahmadiyya faithfuls from across the world.
Speaking during the official opening of this year’s convention, Ahmadiyya’s spiritual leader Hazrt Mirza Masroor called for sprit of selfness to promote peace.
“If we practice the spirit of selfness and ethe societal level then there would be peace cross the globe,” Masroor shared.

Attendees from the Kenyan and other African countries called for good governance to foster peaceful co-existence
Countries, including Kenya, that have been facing political hostilities have been encouraged to seek peaceful and inclusive ways to solve political standoffs.

In the recent wave of protest in a clamour for good governance witnessed across the country, the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) confirmed 10 fatalities across 17 counties during the Saba Saba protests alone.
The annual Jalsa Salana convention aims at strengthening brotherhood and togetherness among Ahamadiyya Muslims that have been facing persecution in different parts of the world due to their spiritual beliefs.
Eminent speakers discuss a range of religious topics and their relevance to contemporary society. Additionally, a number of parliamentarians, civic leaders and diplomats from different countries also address the gathering and underline the conventions objective of enhancing unity, understanding and mutual respect.
A special feature of this convention is that it is blessed by the presence of His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. He addresses the convention over each of the three days, providing an invaluable insight into religious teachings and how they are a source of guidance for the world today.
