Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino, declares himself as the only candidate who can dethrone President William Ruto in a presidential race.

While addressing the media on Saturday 19th April, 2025, Babu Owino stated that he is overqualified for the position claiming he can beat President Ruto fair and square a day before elections.

“As of now, we are overqualified to beat the President of the Republic of Kenya. It is only Babu Owino who can beat President Ruto squarely, a day before elections. Wachana na ile watu husema eti asubuhi, hii ni a day before election tunaweza mwangusha.”he stated.

He also emphasized that he is overqualified for the gubernatorial seat currently held by Hon. Johnstone Sakaja.

“We are also overqualified to be the Governor of Nairobi and also to be a Member of Parliament. The most important thing is service to the people. It is not just the electoral process, it is what you do after being elected.” He added.

In his address, Owino highlighted his biggest qualification, which he said was identifying with the common Kenyans, as he has gone through the challenges they experience.

According to Babu, these provides him with the perfect opportunity to serve Kenyans, which he said was his ultimate plan in whichever seat he chose to vie for in 2027.

“The kind of leadership I want for myself in whichever position I vie for in 2027 shall be guided by the almighty God. I shall work for the people,” he added.

Owino concluded his speech by urging the Gen Zs and millenials to turn up in large numbers during the forthcoming 2027 General Election since with their numbers, they have the capability to see good leaders voted in.

“I want to encourage this generation; the Gen Zs and millennial to participate in the forthcoming elections in 2027 because they are the majority. They add up to approximately 65 to 70 per cent of the Kenyan population that means they can produce a president among themselves.”
