Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Biden Muturi has revealed that his last direct communication with President William Ruto was in January 2025, highlighting a significant rift between the two.
In a recent social media post, Muturi accused President Ruto of deliberately ignoring his calls following the funeral of Lenny Kivuti’s son, stating that he no longer misses the closeness they once shared with the head of State.
“Ruto stopped picking my calls after the funeral of Lenny Kivuti’s son. We haven’t spoken since, and I don’t miss it. I only used to call him when it was absolutely necessary. So I said, to hell with it! He is not someone I cannot live without,” Muturi wrote.
Even before he was fired from cabinet Muturi had leveled serious accusations against President Ruto, alleging corruption and questioning his fitness to hold the presidency.
He claimed that the President attempted to pressure him into approving a dubious deal during his tenure as Cabinet Secretary.
Muturi further asserts that his dismissal from the Cabinet was a direct consequence of his opposition to forced disappearances and his refusal to endorse questionable agreements.
Since his removal from office, Muturi has been an outspoken critic of the Ruto administration, particularly condemning alleged state-sponsored killings and enforced disappearances.
During a state house led Iftar dinner in the month of Ramadhan, President Ruto openly criticized Muturi a CS at the time for is incompetence during his time as the country’s Attorney General.
“I had a problem with the AG who was there before—he was fairly incompetent. But now, I have a very competent lady in the position, and I can assure you that the issues of Wakf will be sorted out within months,” Ruto stated.
While Muturi continues to voice his concerns publicly, President Ruto is yet to issue a formal response to the allegations.
