President of Comedy Eric Omondi has opened up about the deep emotional wound left by the death of his younger brother, comedian Fred Omondi , revealing that the pain still lingers long after his passing.
In a recent interview, Omondi reflected on the multiple losses he has endured throughout his life. He lost his mother in 2002, his father in 2004, and his elder brother in 2016.
Despite having buried loved ones before, Omondi admitted that Fred’s death affected him in a way he never expected.
“Kifo ya Fredi haijawai nihit mpaka leo hii,” he said, explaining that the loss still feels unreal.

Omondi attributed the depth of his grief to the close bond he shared with Fred. Beyond being brothers by blood, the two were inseparable in the comedy industry.
They grew up together, chased the same dream, and moved to Nairobi side by side while trying to make a name for themselves.
That shared journey, he said, made the loss unbearable. His aunt later told him a hard truth, that healing is not guaranteed, and some pain stays with you for life.

More than a year later, Eric Omondi says the loss of his brother remains a constant ache, a reminder of dreams shared, laughter created, and a life taken too soon.
