Pastor Victor Kanyari has spoken candidly about his decision to remain single for more than seven years following his separation from his late ex-wife, gospel artist Betty Bayo.
Addressing his congregation during a Sunday service, the preacher said he has never met another woman who matches Betty Bayo’s character, intelligence, and maturity, noting that his past experiences have made him extremely cautious about settling down again.
Kanyari stated that many of the women he encounters, including some from his own church, do not meet the standards he believes are necessary for a stable family.
He emphasized that he cannot marry someone whose behaviour, lifestyle, or online presence suggests instability or poor judgement.
According to him, protecting his emotional wellbeing and that of his two children remains a top priority.
“I have never met a woman like Betty Bayo,” he said. “Since we separated, I have stayed alone because I cannot bring someone into my life who will mistreat me or my children.
Even when I see how some ladies talk or what they post online, it tells me a lot about their character.”
During the same service, the pastor revealed that he had toured Runda on Saturday while searching for a new home.

He disclosed that he found a property valued at Ksh 90 million and immediately decided it was the house he wants to buy, insisting that he preferred it over a cheaper KSh 45 million option because of the lifestyle it would offer his children, Sky Victor and Dani Victor.
The house, he noted, features a swimming pool, which he believes will enhance their comfort and upbringing.
Betty Bayo, with whom Kanyari shared the two children, passed away after battling blood cancer (leukemia).
Burial arrangements are currently underway as the gospel community continues to mourn her loss.
