In an emotional tribute to her late husband, Nevnina Onyango Omondi, the widow of teacher and blogger Albert Ojwang, has revealed his last words to her, spoken while he was in police custody.
Nevnina broke down as she recounted Albert’s immense emotional strength, which she said was instrumental in their marriage and helped her become courageous. She emphasized their deep friendship, noting it was a bond that kept her going.
“He has been my best friend and an amazing person in my life; he has been really encouraging,” Nevnina shared.

“He made me courageous. At some point, I was weak, but he would sit me down and tell me I didn’t need to be shy. He left at a time I did not expect, but it was God’s time. It’s heavy on us, on me and on my son. He actually doesn’t know anything that is going on. I don’t even know what to say; I lack words. He was my everything.”
Nevnina continued, sharing the profound shock of their final conversation. “We last talked when he was in Central. I was the last person he talked to. His last words were, ‘I love you, see you soon.’ Seeing him so soon here, in the mortuary, it really broke me. I want to stand strong for the sake of our son. Albert, I love you so much.”
Albert has left Nevnina with their three year old son.
