Tanzanian music legend Khadija Kopa has finally broken her silence on her daughter Zuchu’s wedding to Diamond Platnumz, confirming that the couple tied the knot quietly and without her presence.
Speaking openly in a recent interview, the Taarab icon shared her heartfelt reaction to the news, expressing deep gratitude to God for the union.
“When someone gets married, we give thanks. Alhamdulillah, because it’s not that we want our children to live in sin. But youth is like hot water, we’ve all been there, with boyfriends and all that,” Khadija said.
The respected Taarab singer acknowledged that the wedding was kept under wraps but emphasized that what matters most is that the couple chose to formalize their relationship rather than continue in secrecy.
“They did it secretly, but we are thankful. Alhamdulillah. I pray for blessings upon them may they bear good children who will respect them.”
Despite missing out on the event, Khadija made it clear that there were no hard feelings. She wished her daughter all the best in her union with Diamond, offering her full support and motherly blessings.
“We are grateful to God because we prefer our children to marry and live peacefully,” she added.
Khadija also took a moment to address her own past, particularly her relationship with Zuchu’s father. With grace and maturity, she revealed that the two parted ways years ago.
“It is a decision we all agreed on. Each of us moved on peacefully,” she said, putting to rest any rumors of bad blood.
