Media personality Adelle Onyango has divulged reasons for her divorce to her ex-husband rally driver Falgun Bhojak.

The two tied the knot in 2017 but by their third Christmas together, they knew their marriage would not be a forever affair as they had once envisioned.

“By the third Christmas, it wasn’t just our apartment that didn’t feel like home but also my marriage. It was becoming very clear that the wife my husband wanted was nothing like me,” she said in a talk on ‘The Moth’.

“I remember one night we were in bed after one of our many arguments and he said, you refuse to give me three things that make a marriage. You don’t want to give me a child, you won’t take my surname and you stopped wearing your ring.”

At this point, Adelle echoed the most dreaded words by all couples, “I can’t do this anymore, I can’t do us anymore.”

Adelle says that her divorce came with plenty of drama. In 2024, she revealed that her divorce cost her KSh 200,000.

“I had family calling and saying, if he didn’t hit you, why are you leaving? Another family member said I would never find someone more devoted to me than my husband.”
