“I’m the president’s No.1 fan” -Nicki Minaj publicly backs Trump at his summit

In a moment that has captured widespread attention and sparked fierce debate online, hip-hop superstar Nicki Minaj stood alongside former President Donald Trump at a high-profile summit in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, and delivered a brief but emphatic declaration of support.

The event, officially known as the Trump Accounts Summit, was hosted by the U.S. Treasury Department to promote a new federal savings initiative designed to give every U.S.-born child born between 2025 and 2028 a $1,000 tax-advantaged investment account.

Trump and administration officials pitched the program as a way to build generational wealth and incentivize early financial literacy.

Midway through the proceedings, Trump invited Nicki onto the stage, where she greeted the former president and addressed the audience.

In a few pointed sentences, the Grammy-nominated artist went beyond mere endorsement of the program and offered an unabashed show of personal loyalty.

“I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan,” Minaj said, promising that criticism and “hate” directed at Trump only strengthens her support.

“And that’s not going to change,” she added, urging supporters not to allow what she called “bullying” and “smear campaigns” to diminish his standing.

“He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him. Amen.”

Roughly a month earlier at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, Minaj told Erika Kirk, the organization’s CEO and Charlie Kirk’s widow, that she has “the utmost respect and admiration for our president. I don’t know if he even knows this, but he’s given so many people hope.”

Hours later, Minaj posted a photo on her social media account of what has been widely described in news reports as a Trump “Gold Card“, a branded immigration visa document associated with a program that offers qualified applicants a fast-tracked path to U.S. residency and, ultimately, citizenship.

In the caption alongside the image, she wrote simply: “Welp…,” signalling her acceptance of the card and her intention to finalize citizenship paperwork.

According to official information about the Gold Card initiative, candidates typically must pay a nonrefundable processing fee and provide a substantial financial contribution to qualify; however, Minaj’s posts suggest the document was given to her without charge in connection with her high-profile endorsement of the administration’s work.

She followed up by saying she is “finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak,” thanking Trump for what she described as a gracious gesture.

Minaj’s immigration history; she was born in Trinidad and Tobago and has previously stated she arrived in the United States as a young child without legal status, has become part of the discussion around the card and her political turn.

In a 2018 post that resurfaced amid the summit coverage, she acknowledged entering the country at age five, though her exact legal standing prior to the Gold Card was that of a permanent resident, not a citizen.

Reports indicate that Minaj also pledged a significant personal contribution, between $150,000 and $300,000, toward funding Trump Accounts for children of her fan community, known informally as the “Barbz.”

Trump, in turn, praised Nicki on stage, complimenting her career and the enthusiasm with which she has backed the initiative.

Minaj’s public embrace of Trump marks a notable chapter in the evolving relationship between entertainers and political figures.

It follows previous instances where Minaj has spoken out on political issues and aligned with conservative causes, blurring the lines between her artistic identity and her emerging role as a political advocate.
