Lang’ata Member of Parliament (MP) and media personality Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o has pledged to sponsor a trip to Old Trafford for die-hard Manchester United fan Kevin Masagara, turning a post-match celebration into a moment that has captured national attention.
The promise was made shortly after Manchester United’s latest victory, when Jalang’o publicly acknowledged Masagara’s unmatched devotion to the club.
Despite being widely recognised online as one of Kenya’s most passionate United fans, Masagara has never watched the Red Devils play live in England.
In a video shared on social media, Jalang’o expressed disbelief that a fan with such visibility, consistency and loyalty had never stepped foot at the iconic stadium.
He then committed himself to ensuring Masagara attends a live match at Old Trafford, calling it a long-overdue reward for unwavering fandom.
Jalang’o said the plan would go beyond just match day attendance. The proposed trip would include a full Manchester United experience, from touring the club’s museum to exploring key landmarks tied to the team’s history.
He added that logistical processes such as travel documentation would be handled as part of the initiative.
The announcement sparked excitement online, with football fans praising the gesture as a rare moment where influence meets action.
Others described it as recognition of the culture of football fandom, where loyalty often survives seasons of disappointment without material reward.
