The Wiper Democratic Movement has officially rebranded to the Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF), signaling a renewed push towards the 2027 General Elections.
Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka confirmed the change after receiving a new certificate from the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) on August 1, 2025.
In a press briefing, Kalonzo extended gratitude to the ORPP for overseeing the transition. “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP), led by Acting Registrar Sophia Sitati, for their professionalism as we officially changed our name from the Wiper Democratic Movement to the Wiper Patriotic Front,” he said.
According to Kalonzo, the rebrand reflects the party’s commitment to adapt to the will of the people and confront the country’s challenges.
“Political parties are not static but should be responsive to the people. By becoming the patriotic front, we acknowledge our responsibility to rescue and reclaim our beloved nation from the clutches of tyrannical dictatorship. This informs our slogan #KomboaKenya,” he emphasized.
He further revealed that the party is preparing for broader alliances, saying, “We will make other announcements, including news about the winning coalition.” Kalonzo confirmed that WPF will field candidates for all electoral offices in the 2027 elections.
Kalonzo further said that the party will incorporate the insights from the youth who are in most cases left out in matters politics.
” We will upfront the spirit of the Gen Z, because they have a right of belonging even when it comes to political matters,” he affirmed.
The move marks a strategic shift for the party, which has long been a key player in Kenyan politics. With the 2027 polls on the horizon, the WPF is positioning itself as a major contender, driven by a message of patriotism and national renewal.
