Pastor Kanyari has issued a heartfelt apology to his late ex-wife, Betty Bayo, during her burial on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
The burial ceremony took place at her Mugumo home along Kirigiti Road, near Kamiti Corner. Kanyari reflected on their shared past, the love they had for their children, and the public attention they once received.
Speaking to mourners, Kanyari recalled the challenges they faced as a couple and how their lives were often in the spotlight.
“After we conceived our first child… We realised life had become serious. I see your face in our daughter. I see myself in her boldness. In Dani, I see my face. That is what love does. It lives through children; it never dies,” he said.
He praised Bayo for her unwavering love for their children and her role in shaping them positively.
Kanyari also addressed the difficult moments in their relationship and publicly acknowledged how their personal issues had trended online years ago.
“Even though our journey had its ups and downs, the love you had for our children showed how much I mattered in your life. You never denied them a father. You never poisoned their hearts. Instead, you centred them in love.”
“Deep down, I respected the decision you made when you chose to move on with your life. I remember how we both trended years back. I am truly sorry that my brand and drama put you through difficult moments,” he stated.
The pastor described Bayo as a loving mother and a true friend. He promised to continue honouring her memory by caring for their children.
“Betty, you are a loving mother and a true friend. I promise you before God, I will not fail our lovely children,” Kanyari added.
Mourners at the burial witnessed a mix of sorrow and reflection as Kanyari recounted personal memories and the lessons learned from their life together.
His speech highlighted the enduring connection between the two, centred on their shared children, and sought to bring closure to past conflicts.
