A group of professionals and residents from Kasipul Constituency have cautioned the ODM Party against plans to impose a preferred candidate in the forthcoming by-elections.
Speaking in Oyugis town, the group led by Eng. Tom Okoko is accusing a top figure in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party of taking sides, a move they said undermines fairness. Okoko urged the party leadership to ensure a transparent, free and fair nomination process.
Prof. Silvance Abeka echoed the sentiments, accusing the party of repeatedly sidelining Kasipul voters. He insisted that the community would not allow such practices to continue, condemning the move in the strongest terms.
The Kasipul by-election is set to attract keen attention as residents push back against political imposition.
The seat fell vacant after the assasination of Charles Ong’ondo Were on 30th April 2025 in Nairobi.
