Renowned Kenyan actress Kate Actress, whose real name is Catherine Kamau, has unveiled her new philanthropic venture: the Auntie Kate Foundation. The initiative is set to transform the lives of people in less privileged communities, especially those living in marginalised areas.
The foundation’s mission is focused on core pillars of dignity, health, and fundamental support.
The Auntie Kate Foundation has a clear, multi-faceted agenda aimed at empowering women and children and tackling harmful practices.
Its key areas of focus include supplying essential needs and nutritional support to families in need, and advocating for reforms and driving efforts to eradicate Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).
She is also empowering young girls through education and access to sanitary products.
“Our goal is simple: to restore dignity and break down the barriers that keep our sisters and children from reaching their full potential.”
The foundation wasted no time in rolling out its activities. On Saturday, it partnered with Cup of Uji, a fantastic non-profit organisation known for its school feeding programme.
The inaugural joint effort saw the two organisations visit Kumpa Holy Mothers Primary School in Kajiado Central.
The activity centred on providing nutritious meals to the schoolchildren, marking a crucial start for the foundation by addressing immediate hunger and promoting nutrition.
Cup of Uji primarily works to support disadvantaged school children in public primary schools across Kenya. Their collaboration with the Auntie Kate Foundation creates a powerful alliance.
