Pop star Katy Perry and actor Orlando Bloom have officially confirmed they have split in a joint statement issued to US media outlets, after being engaged for 6 years.
Romantically linked since 2016, the couple is parents to a four-year-old daughter.
According to the couple’s representatives, they have been “shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.”
They added that although the couple has split, they will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.
The statement was being released due to the “abundance of recent interest and conversation” surrounding their relationship.
The pop star, 40, and the 48-year-old actor began dating in January 2016, split in 2017, then got back together shortly after. They then got engaged on Valentine’s Day, 2019.
Their daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, was born in 2020, with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) announcing her birth on Instagram since both Katy and Bloom are goodwill ambassadors for the United Nations agency that helps children.
Bloom also has a 14-year-old son, Flynn, with ex-wife Australian model, Miranda Kerr.
The couple’s separation follows a difficult period for Perry, as her most recent album, 143, and its lead single, Woman’s World, failed to match the success of her previous releases.
