The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a possible traffic disruption along the Nairobi – Nakuru – Mau Summit Highway and the Nairobi – Maai Mahiu – Naivasha Highway from Thursday, July 10, to Sunday, July 20, 2025.
In a statement, KeNHA says the traffic disruption will be meant to facilitate interview surveys and data collection.
“During the data survey, motorists may be stopped to share their journey details,” KeNHA says, “The survey data that will be collected comprise Axle load Surveys, Origin-Destination Surveys, Camera Based Cross-Sectional, and Turning Movement counts.”
Consequently, KeNHA is appealing to motorists and other road users to cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site.
The announcement comes after KeNHA and the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Committee approved a proposal to dual the 175 kilometer Nairobi-Mau Summit stretch at an estimated cost of KSh170 Million.
Part of the funds were secured by President William Ruto during his Beijing, China visit in April 2025.
