Kenya Airways suspends Dubai and Sharjah flights after UAE airspace closure

Kenya Airways has temporarily suspended all flights to Dubai and Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates following the UAE’s partial closure of its airspace.

In an update issued Saturday February 28, 2026, the national carrier confirmed the cancellation of passenger flights KQ310 and KQ305, as well as affected cargo services, over safety concerns for passengers and crew. The airline said the suspension will remain in place until further notice.

The move comes following escalating security developments in the Middle East, including joint US and Israeli military strikes on Iran, which have triggered airspace restrictions across the region.

The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority described the closure as an “exceptional precautionary measure” aimed at ensuring flight safety amid rapidly evolving tensions.

Kenya Airways emphasized that passenger and crew safety remains its top priority and apologized for the inconvenience caused. The airline said it will directly contact affected customers and offer support, including rebooking options or refunds where applicable.

Travellers are advised to check the latest flight status on the Kenya Airways website or mobile app, or contact the Customer Excellence Team via phone, WhatsApp, or X at @KQSupport.
