Kenya Power has issued a public notice informing customers of a planned power interruption scheduled for Monday, December 22, 2025, as part of routine maintenance works aimed at improving service delivery.

In a statement shared on its official X account, the utility company said, “Good evening, the following areas will be on a planned power maintenance tomorrow (22.12.2025).” The planned outage will affect parts of Nairobi County and Nyeri County between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

In Nairobi County, the maintenance will impact areas within the Nairobi Region, specifically Nasra Estate, Bee Centre, Sosion Estate, and part of Kayole Spine Road.

Customers expected to be affected include Mama Lucy Hospital, Nasra Estate, Naivas Supermarket, Bee Centre, Shell Petrol Station, Sosion Estate, Shujaa Mall, Soweto Police Station, Soweto Health Centre, Soweto, and surrounding areas.

Kenya Power noted that electricity supply in these areas will be temporarily switched off to allow technicians to safely carry out network upgrades and maintenance activities.

Meanwhile, in the Mt. Kenya Region, parts of Nyeri County will also experience the planned outage. The affected areas include Kiandere, Gitero, and Karia.

Locations listed under this interruption include Karia, parts of Kiamwathi, Kwa Tailor, Gatini, Gitero Market, Kwa Nderi, Gitero Polytechnic, Joma, Muthuaiani Secondary School, Muthuaiani Market, Muthuaiani C/Factory, Kiamaguru, Gathima, Tetu TVC, Kagwathi Market, and adjacent customers.

This planned maintenance is part of Kenya Power’s ongoing efforts to improve the reliability and safety of electricity supply across the country.
