To curb the rampant flooding along Links Road, Kenya Urban Roads Authority has issued a notice to the general public  of a road closure along Links Road -Nyali in Mombasa County. The closure will start from 6.00am on Friday, 1st August 2025 to 6.00pm on Friday, 30th January 2026, a period of 6 months.

This road closure will give KURA ample time for construction works which will solve permanently the recurring flooding in the area. KURA plans to solve the drainage challenges that affect  the specified section of the road.

During the construction period, motorists and pedestrians have been asked to be careful when approaching the specified section for their own safety. 

Police officers and traffic marshals will be on ground to guide the road users  on alternative roots as well as  ensure a smooth flow of traffic. 

Road users are eequired to fully cooperate as this activity is meant to benefit them once the road is reconstructed and drainage system is functional.
