Kenyan barber Joseph Cutz reveals IShowSpeed paid approximately Ksh.6 million for a haircut while in Nairobi

Joseph Rutebeza, popularly known as Joseph Cutz, a renowned Nairobi-based barber, has disclosed that American streamer IShowSpeed paid between Ksh. 2.6 million ($20,000) and Ksh. 6.4 million ($50,000) for a haircut during his recent visit to Kenya.

“Joseph Cutz here, the baddest barber in town. Naona watu wengi sana wanajadili kwa mtandao. Inaweza kuwa 20,000 dollars to 50,000 dollars for a haircut. Mimi ndio barber pekee Nairobi nanyoa watu mashuhuri sana kuliko wote,” Joseph stated.

After receiving his haircut, IShowSpeed expressed his satisfaction.

“I got a hair cut in Kenya. You got me right bro,” IShowSpeed said.

Joseph Cutz, has been a barber for over a decade, starting his career in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, before relocating to Kenya.

He operates a physical barbershop in Lavington and has built a reputation for serving everyone from ordinary citizens to politicians and celebrities, using social media, particularly Instagram, to showcase his work.

This strategy proved beneficial when he received an unexpected direct message.

“I checked my DM and someone was asking about my work and my rates. He then went on to ask me if I can shave iShowSpeed,” Joseph recalled.

He quickly realized it was Speed’s manager reaching out to him.

The manager requested complete discretion.

“He told me that I should not share anything until after Speed is out of the country. I promised him I would do that,” Joseph explained.

When Speed arrived in Kenya, Joseph was called to the hotel where the streamer and his crew were staying.

“Speed is a very easy person. He was jovial throughout; he took videos and shared them on his socials. He also told me to take as many as I could,” Joseph said, describing the experience as the highlight of his career.

Looking ahead, the barber has ambitious plans for expansion and hopes to add more high-profile clients to his portfolio.

“I shave everyone. This year I look forward to shaving President Ruto. I hope it will happen,” he said.
