Kenyan police officer with a masters degree wins prestigious global award

Mr. Jared Ojuok, HSC, SSP, began his distinguished career in the National Police Service on March 3, 2001 when he was enlisted into the General Service Unit (GSU) as a Police Constable.

He later served as an instructor at the GSU Training School before being transferred in 2009 to Police Headquarters, where he worked in the Office of the Police Spokesperson as a Communications Officer. He currently serves as the Staff Officer for Public Relations within the Kenya Police Service.

Through unwavering dedication and commitment, Mr Ojuok has steadily risen through the ranks to his current position of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).

Mr. Ojuok holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from the University of Nairobi and an MBA in Strategic Management from Kenyatta University. He also possesses a Diploma in National Security from the Galilee International Management Institute (GIMI) in Israel and a Diploma in Police Science from Histadrut, Israel.

Widely respected for his efforts in promoting peace, professionalism, and ethical standards in policing, Mr.Ojuok was awarded the Head of State Commendation (HSC) in recognition of his service.

He is a distinguished law enforcement officer and humanitarian, currently serving as the President of the International Police Association (IPA), Kenya Section. The IPA is a non-governmental organisation that unites serving and retired police officers—regardless of rank, gender, race, language, or religion—with the mission of fostering friendship, promoting international cooperation, and enhancing the public image of policing through social, cultural, and professional engagement.

As a passionate advocate for international solidarity, Mr.Ojuok has played a key role in strengthening ties with IPA chapters worldwide, advancing mutual support, global understanding, and friendship among police officers.

Beyond his official responsibilities, he is deeply involved in humanitarian work, supporting initiatives focused on vulnerable populations such as children, youth, and displaced families—demonstrating his firm belief that true security is rooted in compassion and social justice.

As a role model and mentor, Mr. Ojuok inspires countless junior officers to pursue excellence, embrace integrity, and uphold the noble calling of policing with pride and purpose.

He is also the author of the book When the Ancient Tree Falls, which was officially launched on 1 April 2022.

In recognition of his decades of dedicated service and impactful leadership, Mr. Ojuok was honoured on 26 July 2025 with the prestigious “All Means All World Award 2025”. The award celebrates his outstanding contributions as a distinguished leader, champion of unity, and representative of Kenya on the global stage.

His unwavering commitment to duty, professionalism, and humanitarian values continues to set a powerful example within the Service.
