Kenyan forex trader Raymond Omosa popularly known as Kenyan Prince has broken his silence after a viral video showed him smashing his newly acquired iPhone 17 Pro Max during a live trading session.
In the clip, Prince appeared frustrated after losing $10,000 (approximately KSh 1.3 million) in what he described as a high-stakes trade.
Moments later, he seemingly destroyed the high-end device, sparking heated debate online about whether the act was genuine or a publicity stunt.
Speaking in an interview he said; “I made a loss on a trade. I lost $10,000,” he said. “The phone is worth $1,000.

According to reports, Prince had spent about KSh 320,000 to purchase the recently released iPhone 17 Pro Max, making him one of the first Kenyans to own Apple’s latest flagship device.
The phone has been widely anticipated for its upgraded features, powerful camera system, and advanced processing capabilities.
However, Prince downplayed the damage, insisting the phone was insignificant compared to the scale of money he handles in forex trading.
“It’s just a phone,” he implied during the exchange, brushing off the destruction. “It’s more money in regard to whatever I’m doing for a living.”
He also confirmed that he has already replaced the smashed phone with another iPhone 17 Pro max.
The flashy trader, who filmed the incident while in Dubai, also addressed critics who questioned his display of wealth. He maintained that setbacks are part of the journey, revealing that he has previously gone to extreme lengths to raise capital.
“I went to the streets of Nairobi. I also begged money from people,” he said, adding that he has photos to prove it. “When you have that goal, and you know the goal is to make money, you’re going to get it.”
Prince further revealed that he uses multiple smartphones for different tasks. During the interview, he displayed several devices, explaining that each serves a specific role, from managing Instagram to handling business operations.
In another bold declaration, he reminded his followers of his ambitions: “Remember, we are getting that Lamborghini.”
Earlier, he had shared how he temporarily settled for a smaller purchase after missing out on importing his dream car.
“When I went to my car dealer to import my dream car, I found him with a small toy. So I decided to get the toy for the meantime,” Kenyan Prince said referring to the BMW Z4 that he recently bought.
While some Kenyans praised his confidence and resilience, others questioned whether the smashed device was genuine or a calculated stunt designed to fuel his larger-than-life online persona.
