Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has once again drawn public attention with his lighthearted, yet often controversial, self-promotion. Following a recent trip to Uganda, the youthful legislator shared a statement on Instagram this Friday, December 12, 2025, relaying the positive feedback he received.

Salasya claimed that several Kenyans living in Uganda approached him.

They allegedly praised him for carrying himself with humility, described him as an authentic person and most notably, they told him he looks “very handsome in person”.

“Kenyan in Uganda are saying am a very humble man and authentic and very handsome in person,” Salasya wrote.

This is not the first time the MP has publicly boasted about his appearance. Just months earlier, on April 19, 2025, Salasya made similar remarks after an encounter in Mombasa.

He said women in the coastal city were surprised by his physical appearance, claiming they felt that cameras did not capture his good looks well.

Salasya’s love life frequently captures headlines, despite his claims that his busy workload prevents him from dating seriously.

His attempts to woo celebrities, including Huddah Monroe and Azziad Nasenya, have previously ended in public rejection.

He also caused a buzz after expressing interest in creator Cera Imani.

Salasya has openly defended his online flirtations as simply being “for fun,” saying: “Iyo ni kiki na mbwembwe. It is good to always have fun”.

“Unaweza kunitamani lakini kunipata ndo shida… I am too busy,” he once said, highlighting his perceived high workload.

The MP has also courted controversy on family matters. Months ago, he publicly asked any woman who genuinely believes she has a child with him to present the child by the following week.

His views on marriage and women have been particularly contentious.

He told men in his constituency to marry but considers himself exempt due to his busy schedule.

He stated he might marry three women in the future because “wanawake ni wengi kushinda wanaume”.

Salasya described his ideal partner as ambitious and comfortable with rural life.

He made highly controversial remarks about dating virgins, saying: “When I realise she is a virgin, I will allow her to go have another man to break her virginity and come back to me…”.
