The win in Windhoek, Namibia, marks their second consecutive clean sweep and positions the team perfectly for their final, decisive group stage match.
Carrying the momentum from a similar 3-0 win against Tunisia, the Kenyan ladies showcased their skill and determination.
The day’s action began with a stellar performance from Melissa Nanjala, who secured a hard-fought win against Algeria’s Melissa Rym Benamar Kerfah with a score of 6-2, 7-6. Nanjala’s victory, characterized by aggressive baseline play, gave Kenya the crucial first point.
The team’s top player, Angella Okutoyi, followed up with an equally impressive display. The 2022 Wimbledon Girls’ doubles champion was in dominant form, dispatching Bochra Rehad with a convincing 6-0, 6-2 scoreline to seal the overall tie for Kenya.
