Kilifi County is set to host the 2025 World Triathlon Development Regional Cup on Saturday and Sunday, November 22nd and 23rd, 2025, at the Silver Palm Spa & Resort in Kilifi.

“We are honored to host the Africa Triathlon Cup in Kilifi, a destination that truly reflects the natural beauty and vibrant spirit of Kenya,” said Ole Salonik, Secretary General of Triathlon Kenya.

This year marks the third edition of the World Triathlon Development Regional Cup.

The event is meant to showcase endurance, athleticism, and unity as National Federations across Africa come together to compete.

For the Development Regional Cup, developing National Federations will be sending athletes ranked 250 and below to participate in this prestigious event. 

The competition will feature Elite, U23, Junior, and Youth Men and Women categories, providing a valuable opportunity for emerging athletes to gain international exposure and earn ranking points. 

Youth athletes will also leverage this event as part of their preparation for the Youth Olympic Games – Dakar 2026.

This championship continues to serve as a crucial platform for developing nations to showcase their talent on the global stage, promote the growth of triathlon worldwide, and inspire the next generation of champions.

“Over the past four years, this event has grown immensely, attracting athletes from as far as Japan and the USA,” added Salonik. “We look forward to witnessing exceptional performances and celebrating the true spirit of sport here in Kilifi.”
