Kim Kardashian had a frightening medical discovery that she is linking to the stress of her high-profile divorce from Kanye West.
In the Season 7 trailer for The Kardashians, which aired on 23 October 2025, the reality star shared that doctors found a small, unruptured brain aneurysm during a routine MRI scan.
“I’m at the doc getting a routine MRI when the ‘little aneurysm’ is discovered.”
An aneurysm is a “bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain,” according to the Mayo Clinic. A ruptured aneurysm can cause life-threatening internal bleeding.
Kim theorises that the drama-filled divorce from Ye (Kanye West), who she was married to from 2014 to 2022, may have directly caused the aneurysm. She points out that the rapper is still very much in her life as they share four children namely North aged 12, Saint aged 9, Chicago aged 7 and Psalm aged 6.
While Kim links the discovery to stress, medical experts offer a subtle clarification. They note that stress does not directly cause aneurysms. However, severe stress can significantly elevate blood pressure, which is a factor that can increase related health risks.
The discovery, known as an incidental finding, highlights the value of regular health screenings. Small, unruptured aneurysms are surprisingly common, occurring in approximately 3-5% of the general population.
The brain aneurysm wasn’t the only health issue Kim attributed to the split.
Later in the episode, Kim Kardashian claims her divorce from Ye also caused her uncomfortable skin condition, psoriasis, to flare up. She says this too was a direct result of the immense stress from the bitter battle.
Kim was also completely candid about the mental impact of her marriage and split in the Season 7 premiere trailer.
She discussed her belief that she suffered from Stockholm Syndrome. This is a psychological coping mechanism where a person develops positive, caring feelings toward an abuser or captor, as defined by the Cleveland Clinic.
Kim notably stood by Kanye for years as he dealt with public outbursts and mental health struggles. She recently disclosed that she eventually felt compelled to end the marriage due to the rapper’s unwillingness to seek help.
