Police in Murang’a County have arrested a suspected drug peddler after an intelligence-led operation at Kirwara Shopping Centre in Gatanga Sub-County.
The Friday evening operation, conducted by officers from Kirwara Police Station, targeted narcotics peddlers in the area.
According to the National Police Service, the suspect was found with 63 rolls of bhang concealed in his jacket.
The suspect, described as a known peddler in the locality, was immediately placed in custody and is expected to be arraigned in court.
In a statement, the National Police Service said it “reaffirms its commitment to combating drug trafficking and illicit brews,” while urging members of the public to support ongoing security operations by providing timely information through their nearest police station.
