Kisumu Boys shine bright as 10 students attain straight A grades in 2025 KCSE

Joy and excitement have filled Kisumu Boys High School following the release of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results, in which ten candidates from the institution attained the top grade of A.

The outstanding performance has been celebrated widely by the school community and education stakeholders, who have described it as a major milestone in strengthening academic standards and preserving the long-standing prestige of the historic school.

From the moment the results were announced, the school compound was awash with smiles, cheers and renewed hope. Teachers congratulated one another, students embraced in celebration, and parents expressed pride in the fruits of years of dedication and sacrifice. The achievement has once again placed Kisumu Boys High School among the country’s leading academic institutions.

Speaking to journalists outside his office, the school’s Principal, Austine Muma Okello, attributed impressive results to collective effort and a shared commitment to excellence. He emphasized that success was not accidental, but the outcome of discipline, teamwork and self-drive among learners.

“These results are a product of teamwork between teachers, parents and students. Above all, they reflect the students’ own decision to embrace hard work and take responsibility for their academic journey,” said Muma.

The Principal noted that the school has made deliberate investments in creating a supportive learning environment. These include strong academic mentorship programmes, regular guidance and counselling sessions, and close monitoring of students’ progress. According to the school administration, such measures have helped nurture confidence, focus and a culture of consistency among learners, motivating them to aim high and remain resilient even under pressure.

Muma also paid glowing tribute to the teaching staff, praising their dedication, professionalism and integrity. He observed that teachers at Kisumu Boys go beyond classroom instruction to mentor, inspire and instill values that shape students into responsible individuals.

“Our teachers have worked tirelessly and with great integrity. Their commitment proves that quality education can be achieved through honesty, discipline and passion,” he remarked.

However, even as he celebrated the success, the Principal issued a strong warning to educators across the country against involvement in examination malpractice. He stressed that cheating undermines the credibility of the education system and destroys the future of learners.

“Examination irregularities are a shame to the education sector and a betrayal of our children’s dreams. True success must be earned through merit,” Muma cautioned.

According to school records, a total of 599 candidates from Kisumu Boys High School sat for the national examination. The management has pledged to strengthen existing strategies while introducing new academic interventions aimed at sustaining and even surpassing the current performance in the coming years.

As celebrations continue, the school community remains united in the belief that discipline, ethical leadership and hard work are the true pillars of academic excellence. The remarkable achievement by the ten A students stands not only as a personal triumph, but also as a symbol of what can be accomplished when a school works together with purpose and integrity.
