This centre gives our customers a place to explore our full range of products, receive hands-on support, and find the right energy solutions for their daily lives,” he said.

“This is inline with the company’s ambitious initiative of complementing its nationwide network of 163 shops. Its launch marks another milestone in the company’s mission to expand access to affordable solar solutions across the country, especially in under-electrified western Kenyan counties.” Atandi added in his statement.

The launch was attended by Kisumu county’s minister for energy, Jerome Ochieng and a delegation from the directorate of energy to reafirm their commitment in advancing and scalling the county’s quest for clean, sustainable and renewable energy.

In his statement, Ochieng’ acknowledged the company’s entry into the city, noting that its mission and vision realigns with the county’s development agenda anchored on sustainable energy access and innovation.

“We are impressed with the innovation and happy that we’re creating an enabling environment for businesses like Sunking and the likes, by streamlining licensing processes, providing linkages with the local communities and also promoting innovation in green energy,” he said.

Ochieng’ reiterated the county’s commitment in ensuring strategic partnership with key players in the energy sector for transformative development across the county.

“The County Government of Kisumu is proud to support Sun King’s efforts because they align with our vision of building a resilient, green economy.
