The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced that the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) result slips are now ready for collection by schools across the country.
According to the council, the result slips have already been dispatched to Sub-County Directors of Education offices nationwide, paving the way for candidates to obtain their official examination documents through their respective schools.
In a notice to schools and candidates, KNEC confirmed the distribution process and advised institutions to coordinate with local education offices.
“The 2025 KCSE Examination Result Slips have been dispatched to all Sub-County Directors of Education (SCDE) offices countrywide.
Schools that presented candidates for the examination are advised to liaise with the respective SCDEs to collect the result slips,” the council stated.
Candidates have now been encouraged to visit the schools where they sat their examinations to collect the documents, which are essential for college applications, employment opportunities, and other academic processes.
The release of the result slips comes shortly after the Ministry of Education addressed concerns raised by teachers and contracted professionals involved in the administration and marking of the 2025 national examinations.
In a statement, the ministry acknowledged delays in the payment of allowances for those who participated in managing the examinations, attributing the situation to financial constraints.
“The Ministry of Education wishes to acknowledge the legitimate concerns raised regarding the delayed payment of contracted professionals engaged in the administration and marking of the 2025 National Examinations and Assessments,” the statement read.
The ministry explained that the delay was linked to funding challenges affecting the release of money meant for examination personnel.
“The delays in disbursement of allowances have arisen from budgetary and cash flow constraints currently affecting the release of funds,” the ministry said.
However, education officials assured affected professionals that efforts are underway to resolve the issue in collaboration with the National Treasury.
“We wish to assure all affected professionals that payment remains a priority. The Ministry, in collaboration with the National Treasury, is actively working to resolve the matter and expedite the release of the requisite funds within the shortest time possible,” the statement added.
