The Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) has rescheduled the Kenya Cup quarterfinals to July 2025 due to conflicting international commitments involving Kenyan teams.
The matches, which were originally set for June 20 and 22 at the Kasarani Gymnasium Indoor Arena and Nyayo Indoor Arena, will now take place in early July to allow for participation in two major volleyball events happening continental.
One of the reasons for the postponement is the annual Kigali Genocide Memorial Volleyball Tournament, which will be held from June 20 to 22 in Rwanda’s capital, Kigali.
In addition, Kenya’s national beach volleyball team are preparing to travel to Morocco for the 2025 African Beach Volleyball Championship qualifiers. These qualifiers will run from June 23 to 30 in the cities of Tetouan and Martil.
According to the updated calendar released by KVF, a technical meeting to discuss logistics and match protocols will be held on July 3, 2025, at the KCB Sports Club along Thika Road in Ruaraka.
The women’s Kenya Cup quarterfinals will now be played on July 5 at the Nyayo Basketball Court, with matches scheduled throughout the day.
The men’s quarterfinals will take place the following day, July 6, also at the Nyayo Basketball Court.
KVF has confirmed that all quarterfinal matches will be played on a straight knockout basis, meaning that losing teams will be immediately eliminated from the competition.
The semi-finals for both the men’s and women’s categories will take place on July 12, with the finals scheduled for July 13.
These matches will be hosted at either the Nyayo Basketball Court or the Kasarani Gymnasium, with exact venues and kick-off times to be confirmed closer to the dates.
