Media personality Sheila Kwamboka, popularly known as Kwambox, has called out activist Kasmuel McOure, accusing him of abandoning the very movement that elevated his public profile and aligning himself with those the movement stood against.
Speaking during an interview on ‘Every Other Time With Eric’, Kwambox did not mince her words, directly addressing McOure and expressing her frustration with what she views as a glaring act of opportunism.
“Kasmuel, you are so irritating,” Kwamboka said, adding that his current posture is a far cry from where he stood when the Gen Z protests were at their peak.
She painted a vivid picture of the contrast, recalling how ordinary Kenyans were out in the streets braving tear gas while McOure, dressed in a full suit, positioned himself as one of the movement’s prominent voices.
“Hatukuwa tunakula tear gas na wewe just two years ago tao ukiwa umevaa suti full,” she said, suggesting that his involvement at the time was calculated rather than genuine.
Kwambox noted that many people had raised red flags about his intentions early on, and that his subsequent actions have only confirmed their suspicions.
“People kept saying you are an opportunist and you turned out to be exactly what we thought,” she said.
In November 2024, McOure joined the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party after a meeting with party chairperson and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga. He went on to declare that ODM Party was out to revive youth and student leagues across the country.
He went on to say that ODM is the only pro-people party in East and Central Africa.
Ever since making the move, McOure has represented the party in various forums locally and internationally.
