Kenya Kwanza leaders have called on UDA leadership to expel Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale from the party and strip him of his position as Senate majority whip, after he publicly endorsed DAP-K candidate Seth Panyako over UDA’s flag bearer, David Ndakwa in the Malava by-election.
Speaking at the African Church of the Holy Spirit in Tumbeni, Malava, the leaders led by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Presidential aide Farouk Kibet cautioned residents against being swayed by what they termed as “sweet talk” from the opposition, urging them instead to back the government’s candidate.
Mudavadi emphasized the need for unity within the Luhya community, citing the cooperation between President William Ruto and KANU leader Gideon Moi as an example. He urged the community to speak in one voice and ensure mass voter registration ahead of future elections.

He also told off opposition figures and other leaders who have been abusing him, urging politicians to change their attitude and respect fellow leaders from the region.
Members of parliament present, led by Kakamega county MPs caucus chair and Ikolomani MP Bernard Shinali, reiterated that the Luhya community would not settle for anything less than the deputy president’s position in 2027.
The leaders also drummed up support for Ndakwa ahead of the November 27 by-election, pledging to complete projects initiated by the late area MP Malulu Injendi.
