Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has criticised the ongoing women empowerment initiatives in the country, describing them as a waste of public resources intended to manipulate Kenyans politically.
Mwangangi warned that such initiatives could drain public coffers and potentially lead to an economic downfall similar to that caused by the infamous YK’92 movement.
He urged President William Ruto to intervene and stop what he termed as unnecessary misuse of public funds, calling for adherence to due process in the allocation of such resources.
Mwangangi also took a swipe at Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, advising him to stop making futile attempts to woo Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka into joining the Kenya Kwanza coalition.
“With all due respect, let me advise the senior professor of law to keep his hands off Kalonzo, because the game he’s playing is futile,” he said.
The Deputy Governor further challenged Kindiki, saying if he is so eager to work with Kalonzo, he should leave his current team and join the Wiper party instead.
“The way things stand, neither Kalonzo nor anyone from his team would dare jump onto a sinking ship,” Mwangangi stated.
