Malkia Strikers provisional squad unveiled ahead of FIVB World Championships

The Kenya Volleyball Federation has officially unveiled the Malkia Strikers’ provisional squad as the team gears up for the FIVB World Championships, scheduled to take place from 22nd August to 7th September 2025 in Thailand.

The World Championship matches will be hosted across four Thai cities: Bangkok, Nakhon Ratchasima, Chiang Mai, and Phuket. Malkia Strikers have been drawn in Pool “G” alongside Germany, Poland, and Vietnam.

Other African representatives include Cameroon, which will compete in Pool “H” with Ukraine, Serbia, and Japan, while Egypt will feature in Pool “A” alongside Thailand, the Netherlands, and Sweden.

The provisional squad features a blend of seasoned internationals and rising stars, drawn from top Kenyan clubs including KCB, KPC, PRISONS, DCI, KDF, and others.

The squad announcement follows the completion of the 2025 Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) League women’s tournament, where Kenya Pipeline emerged champions after edging a hard-fighting DCI Kenya 3-2 in a thrilling match played at the Kasarani Indoor Arena on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

The team will be led by Head Coach Geoffrey Omondi, assisted by David Muthui and Esther Jepkosgei, with Azenga Mavisi in charge of physical training and Sarah Karongo handling physiotherapy duties. The Malkia Strikers will hold a pre-tournament training camp in Vietnam before proceeding to Thailand.
