Police have launched investigations after a man hit his wife with a jembe, killing her on spot during a domestic dispute in Bambra village, Ugunja, Siaya County.
The suspect also attacked his five-year-old son and killed him during the incident.
This was after police discovered bodies of the two victims lying in a pool of blood in their house.
According to the Police, the husband had a scuffle with Nyamanga before he used a jembe to hit her on the head.
He later turned on the son and hacked him to death.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the man attempted suicide by swallowing a poisonous chemical.
He was found him lying unconscious next to a can whose poisonous contents he had swallowed.
The suspect was rushed to hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the bodies were moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy as investigations continue.
