Police have launched investigations after a tragic incident in Lurambi, Kakamega County, where a 17-year-old girl was murdered in a rental house. 

The suspected killer, believed to be her boyfriend, fled the scene and is reported to have gone to Uganda.

Both the deceased and the suspect are believed to be Ugandan nationals. 

According to locals, the couple had rented the house just a day before the incident.

The girl’s mother, who was aware of her daughter’s relationship, became concerned after learning that the suspect allegedly committed suicide in Uganda. 

She reached out to relatives living in Kakamega to inquire about her daughter’s whereabouts.

 It was through them that she received the devastating news of her daughter’s death.

Police have urged residents to remain calm as investigations and efforts to trace the suspect continue.
