Man murdered, his head and private parts chopped off and placed at the middle of road in Muhoroni

Residents of Keiyo Village in Muhoroni woke up to a gruesome scene on Tuesday October 28, 2025 in the morning after the decapitated body of a local tractor driver was discovered near his rented home.

According to police reports filed at Koru Police Station under OB No. 02/28/10/2025, the chilling discovery began when a boda boda rider and security agent, Wickliff Okoncho, alerted Achego Patrol Base officers after receiving information about a human head dumped in the middle of the road at Kona Mbaya along the Achego–Muhoroni road.

Officers who rushed to the scene confirmed the report, finding a human head stuffed inside a paper bag and abandoned in the middle of the road.

While still processing the scene, another distress call came in that a headless body had been spotted a few meters from a nearby homestead.

It was later established that the victim was Patrick Okello Amemo, a 41-year-old tractor driver originally from Mawego Village in Homa Bay County but residing in Keiyo Village, Songor sub-location.

His mutilated body was discovered close to his rented house, with both his head and manhood severed, pointing to a deeply personal and violent act.

“Officers from Achego Patrol base visited the scene and found a human head in a paper dumped in the middle of the road as reported. While at the scene, another report was received of a headless body lying near the deceased’s home,” read part of the police report.

Detectives from DCI Chemelil and the Station Commander from Muhoroni Police Station documented the crime scenes before moving the body to Odhoo Morgue pending a post-mortem examination.

No arrests have been made so far, and the motive of the killing remains unclear. However, investigators are pursuing several leads as the community reels in shock over the brutality of the murder.

Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and assist with any information that could help unravel the circumstances surrounding the gruesome incident.
