Police have launched investigations after an incident in Eldoret where a man received a parcel containing three human fingers and six bullets.
This was after the receiver of the parcel informed police that on Friday August 8, 2025, an unknown man called him, saying he had a parcel for him.
After the receiver gave his location, the sender dispatched a rider to deliver the package.
He was in a bar when the rider called to say he had arrived.
Upon receiving the envelope and opening it, he discovered three human fingers and the bullets inside.
Police who arrived at the scene confirmed the parcel contained three fingers, a forefinger, a ring finger, and a little finger, all from a left hand.
At the same time, police discovered four 7.62mm and two 9mm live bullets in the envelope with no written message inside.
Meanwhile, police took the fingers to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary for verification, while the bullets were sent for ballistic testing.
Police have intensified the search for the sender who remains unidentified.
During the incident, the officers questioned the rider, seeking more details about the sender of the parcel, who had switched off his phone.
Authorities are yet to determine the motive of the incident and the identity of the fingers’ owner.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the owner of the fingers may have been killed or mutilated.
