Mary Biketi: I pay my bills, meeting Oparanya was pure chance

Mary Biketi has set the record straight regarding her relationship with veteran politician and now Cabinet Secretary, Wycliffe Oparanya, clarifying that she is financially independent and not reliant on him as widely assumed by a section of Kenyans online.

Speaking during a candid radio interview, Biketi addressed rumors that she entirely depends on the former Kakamega governor for her lifestyle.

She insisted that she is capable of sustaining herself and contributes equally in her relationship.

“People think that without waziri I have no life. I want people to know that I do my own business, and pay my own bills. Yes, he financed the business, and as much as he is there, I also pay my bills,” She stated.

Biketi went on to share the story of how she met the seasoned politician, an encounter she describes as purely coincidental.

According to her, their paths crossed at Wilson Airport while she was en route to Kisumu.

“We met at the airport, Wilson. I was going to Kisumu. We happened to share the same flight,” she recalled.

“I just saw him getting in and I was like, ‘Oh my God’. We sat and waited for the flight to be ready. I took my seat and then he came. That was it. The rest is history.” Biketi added.

The seemingly random meeting soon turned into something more meaningful, a turn of events that caught even her by surprise.

Beyond the public’s perception of their relationship, Biketi took a moment to praise Oparanya for his role as a father, calling him responsible and caring.

“He is a very responsible dad. He is a good man. People judge him a lot when it comes to women, but he is a good man.” Biketi said.

“We all know that he is a polygamous man, so there are those who will always judge, but he is a good dad,” she added.

Following the revelation, many social media users took to various platforms to express their admiration and envy, with some jokingly vowing to switch from road to air travel in hopes of bumping into high-caliber partners.
