The FKF Premier League action heats up this weekend as Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards gear up for the highly anticipated second leg of the Mashemeji Derby.
The two giants of Kenyan football will face off on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Nairobi’s Kasarani Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 pm.
In preparation for the clash, organizers have announced that 45,000 tickets are available. Of these, 5,000 tickets have been allocated to the VVIP section, while 40,000 are reserved for regular ticket holders.
Supporters are urged to purchase their tickets early to avoid the last-minute rush. Regular tickets are priced at KES 300, while VVIP tickets will go for KES 5,000.
Parking at the stadium will cost KES 300. It is important to note that no physical tickets will be sold at the gates; all purchases must be made online via tikiti.co.ke, with sales officially closing on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
This fixture arrives at a critical stage of the season. Gor Mahia, currently second on the FKF Premier League standings with 53 points, are in hot pursuit of leaders Kenya Police FC, who sit at the summit with 55 points.
A victory for Gor Mahia could see them reclaim the top spot, depending on the outcome of Kenya Police’s match against Bandari FC, which will take place on Friday, May 9, at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa.
AFC Leopards, positioned sixth with 42 points, are also eager for a strong finish to the season. Beyond the traditional rivalry, Leopards will be looking to dent Gor Mahia’s title ambitions while bolstering their own standings in the league.
The weekend will also see several other crucial FKF Premier League matches. On Friday, May 9, Nairobi City Stars will host Mara Sugar FC at Dandora Stadium in Nairobi, KCB FC will face Shabana FC at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, and Bandari FC will take on Kenya Police FC in Mombasa.
All matches are scheduled to kick off at 3:00 pm.
Saturday, May 10, will feature Mathare United against Kakamega Homeboyz at Dandora Stadium starting at 1:00 pm, followed by Sofapaka FC facing Kariobangi Sharks at 4:00 pm at the same venue.
In Machakos, Posta Rangers will clash with Bidco United at 1:00 pm, before Tusker FC meet Murang’a Seal FC at 4:00 pm.
